Worcester taken from here at 11.00p.m
H has gone to see friends in London.
So far today I've hoovered two thirds of the house - including M's room.  I've managed to get out on to M's balcony and checked that as I feared, the hand rail is rotting in the far corner (it's not unsafe and she never goes out on it).  I've phoned the collecting people to get rid of the walking frame etc.  I've cleaned M's shower - the job I hate most. I've phoned round to get someone to quote for a new front door as ours has split.  I've made a little something to post to Niki as a pay it forward, which I hope will cheer her up (I'll photo it before it goes and show you later when she's received it).  I haven't been to the bank or the Post Office as it's raining cats and dogs.
Now, I'm going to make a cup of coffee and eat a slice of cheese cake, watch some daytime TV or possibly one of a pile of DVDs and finish the button band on a cardigan.
H doesn't get back until 10.00p.m., so I'll have to keep awake to go and pick him up - possibly by boat if this rain doesn't give up soon!

It's pouring with rain here too but after all that hot dry weather I guess we mustn't complain! Hope you enjoy some "me time" and that you won't need to get your souwester and galoshes out tonight when you go to collect H.

Hope your down time proceeded without interruption. I see you are a girl of taste ... coffee, cheesecake, DVDs ...

I have had a similar day of cleaning whilst it rains out there. But I didn't stop in time, and I just have a bad back as a reward! Should have put that kettle on sooner.

You mean I should stop doing this and get on with the hoovering? It's an idea, I suppose...

M sounds a nightmare. I suppose murder is out of the question...?

It's a thought - no ... I'd be suspected immediately because all my blog readers would have read this. Shouldn't be flippant really, but she would try the patience of someone infinitely more saintly than I am.
I've been wondering why I get so much more done when H is out. I think it's the incentive to watch daytime TV and being able to clean with Radio 4 on really loud! When he's here, I spend more time on the computer (he always assumes I'm working even when I'm reading blogs?!) and he's nearly always sitting where I was thinking of hoovering, doing something that can't be disturbed (well it's a fair excuse...) So that cancels out the extra time I gain when he's home and does his share of feeding and dealing with M.
