1. Why does my Hp inkjet use more yellow ink than any other - including black? I don't print lots of colour photos - nearly all my printing is text only, and I certainly don't prints endless photos of yellow things, so why?
(And why does the local shop never have the yellow cartridges?)
2. Why don't most stationery shops no longer sell packets of plain postcards ('people don't use them anymore') or OHP transparencies ('people have computerised projectors now'). Well, I'm a people and I want both those items. Thank goodness for the internet and Amazon where both are available but it would be hard luck if I couldn't wait to have them delivered. I was surprised that even the Malvern stationers couldn't oblige, one of the best things about living here is that many of the shops are still delightfully old-fashioned (Brays still have wooden till boxes where you write the invoice on the top, and at Francis they write your order out in an ledger book)
Pondering the above, I made a trip to Staples for the printer cartridge (another mystery, why are these so expensive) without hope that they would have either of the other items. They didn't, of course, but I thought my nice, newly-painted office deserved some new bright stationery and succumbed to these magazine racks and a storage box ready for the new tax year, as well as some other little items like double sided tape and some bits and pieces for the postcard swap.
I couldn't resist these little bulldog clips - perfect for my system of clipping my weekly paperwork together to stop things going astray. The little clock and rack of hooks I found in a local garden centre.
The weather is beautiful today so I did make a start on the garden - sorting out the compost bin ,so you wouldn't want pictures of that. Next door are having a new ensuite fitted and their driveway and our little cul-de-sac is crowded with vans, so getting out is almost impossible without asking for them all to move. Fortunately, I shopped yesterday and M can wait until next week for her prescription. Hope you all have this wonderful weather - time to get our new parking permit for the Hills carparks and get up there walking. If only H's dizziness would go away!

I'm like that in stationery shops ... it's where 'need' is sacrificed to 'really, really want'.
YES! You're so right about yellow ink! And blank postcards!
I hope you don't get trapped for too long - seems a lot of disruption for a little ensuite.

Brays....that is a blast from the past! Used to get my school uniform there.....lots and lots of years ago.

That's funny, because with me it's always the pink cartridge that runs out first. Actually, it's possible that if you're hardly using any yellow at all, the nozzle where the ink comes out maybe be drying up and so hasn't really run out. But you would still have to replace it if that had happened. So annoying, either way. Ink is cheap on Amazon. Also, I think you can get blank postcards at Hobbycraft, if I dare to mention that behemoth. I don't know whether you have one near you. I always feel I shouldn't be going there but there is usually something I want to get.

Quite right, Fran - I did resist the other items in the stripey storage range though!
Plumbers have dispersed a bit today, Jo. They had a big leak to deal with so had to gut the room.
Don't think you'd find Brays has changed much, Julie, though they don't do uniform now.
Pink always goes next, Jane! Nearest Hobbycraft to us is Gloucester, I think, so a bit of a trek - nice if one's got an entire afternoon to while away though.
