It's been a dull week here in every sense. The weather's been grey and rainy - until twenty minutes ago when the sun suddenly came out. Still unable to drive, so apart from a quick trip with H to collect M's prescriptions - which is easier with two, one to run into the pharmacy and one to turn the car around - I've hardly been outside even into the garden (daughter's been away on holiday). If this arm is not deemed to have healed when I go back in 10 days time, I shall have to start investigating the local bus routes, it's bit too far to walk into town and means walking along the bit of pavement where I fell over. H considers going out as unecessary unless there's a cast iron reason, preferring to spend his time in front of a computer or a musical keyboard of some sort.
I've done the food shopping, bought a few new 't'shirts, and some totally unecessary fabric (well it was in a sale) online, and had a small splurge on ebay on a couple more Britain's wild horses (see this post if this doesn't make sense), so the herd is expanding nicely. Being stuck at home is not good for the finances.
Next week doesn't hold out much hope of further entertainment - H has lessons of various sorts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening, and daughter is busy. Saturday is our wedding anniversary but it clashes with an organ recital which H especially wants to go to (well, the player, Dr Francis Jackson, is about to celebrate his 94th birthday so I can see that it's a case of catch him while you can!) It's very frustrating - I'm still doing all the boring things which I can manage easily and can't do the more amusing things. Roll on 4th October!

Oh how I wish I was near enough to pop round and take you out somewhere for tea and a chat and a girly sort of outing or something! You must be fed up to the back teeth and not getting a great deal of support by the sound of things? At least the sun is shining - can you have a sit in the garden - I have just had a cuppa on my own out in the sun (D was watching the cycling on TV) and enjoyed my five minutes. Roll on 4th October and here's hoping all is well and you can at least drive again.
It's a well known fact that purchasing totally unecessary fabric is good for the soul - and it helps arms to heal - REALLY!
Thanks, Jane, that's such a nice thought. I'm hoping we'll get some good weather this week so I can potter outside - it's getting even more jungly than usual!
Cathy, that made me smile....
It must be so frustrating for you.Hope you are back driving again soon.
Sorry, I've been away and will be again soon, but in between I'll give you a ring. You might find the local bus services offer a whole new world. I speak from experience!
